Stuffed paneer pakora recipe, paneer pakora

stuffed-paneer-pakora Stuffed paneer pakora with green chutney sandwiched between the paneer slices and made pakora. Full video, step by step pictures recipe.

Paneer pakora is a very easy and quick to prepare snack. It is our family favorite. In weekends, when we are super hungry in tea time, Aj asks to make paneer pakora. It’s quite filling snack too.  I have always wanted to try this version of stuffed ones. But usually frozen paneer cubes will be the one I use, so make simple paneer pakoras.

I already have posted two green chutney recipes, but go with the one I have mentioned here as it will be thick and apt for this particular recipe. Stay tuned for Ganesh Chaturthi recipes, meanwhile browse my collections.

  • 250 grams Paneer (fresh)
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour/ besan/ kadalai mavu
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tbsp corn flour
  • Green chutney ( as needed)
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 pinch cooking soda
  • 1/8 tsp asafoetida
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • Oil to deep fry
  • Salt as needed
  1. In a mixing bowl, take besan, rice flour, corn flour, chilli powder, pepper powder, turmeric, cooking soda, asafoetida and salt.
  2. Mix well. Add required water and make batter, not too thick, not too thin. It should coat well the paneer if you dip it.
  3. Add ghee and mix lastly.
  4. Slice paneer block as thin as possible. Cut into square slabs. Keep it immersed in hot water until use.
  5. Spread green chutney over a paneer slice and place the other on top of it so that you make a sandwich with green chutney in middle.
  6. Dip it in besan batter we prepared and deep fry in hot oil.
  7. Flip and cook over medium flame until golden and crisp.
  8. Drain over paper towel. Repeat to finish.
  • You can also slit a thick slice of paneer in the middle to add green chutney inside it. But I chose this way.
  • If using frozen paneer, thaw first, keep immersed in hot water.
