Healthier Air Fryer Nuggets
Looking for something to make this weekend that the whole FAM will enjoy? Then you’ve gotta try these crispy nuggets! This is my new FAVORITE method for making crispy nuggets at home! Lots of flavor and just super good!
My kids sure loved chicken nuggets when they were little (actually so did I!) I wish I had this recipe 10 years ago…but it’s never too late to enjoy a childhood favorite!
I think these nuggets would be absolutely delicious on top of a big salad with tomato, onions, and pickles – if you’re looking to make a meal out of it.
I used turkey breast to make these and they came out super moist with a perfectly crispy crust!
Our FAVORITE Dip ideas:
6 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- ½ cup almond flour
- ½ cup ground flax seed
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dry oregano
- 1-1/2 lbs chicken or turkey cutlets
- sea salt and ground pepper, to taste
- avocado oil cooking spray
Garnish Ideas:
- Sea Salt, Chives
Instructions:
Slice your chicken or turkey cutlets into nugget-sized pieces, then pat them completely dry with paper towels, and season them with sea salt and pepper.
Prepare 2 shallow dishes. One with your beaten eggs; In the second one whisk the almond flour, ground flaxseed, parmesan, together with all of your seasonings.
Meanwhile, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees f.
Dip each chicken piece into the beaten eggs.
Then lay and gently press into the almond mixture to evenly coat on all sides.
Place your nuggets into your preheated air fryer with some space in between each one.
Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook in separate batches.
Lightly spray them with avocado oil spray.
Air fry the nuggets for 10 minutes on one side, then using a pair of tongs flip and cook for 4-5 minutes more, or just until cooked through, crispy, and golden brown.
Garnish with sea salt and chives, if desired.
Serve with your favorite dip.
Enjoy!
Rachel
