Meet Julie, Who lost 13.9 Pounds During the CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge!
“Hi, I’m Julie and I am a 47 year old mom, wife, and architect with a demanding job. I came off a full hip replacement surgery 6 months ago, completed my physical therapy, and then the pandemic hit. My gym time and mojo came to a full stop. Like everyone else, I was working from home in my dining room and eating my anxiety away.
I have always been an emotional eater, but I have not always been overweight or inactive. It really started with an abusive marriage and continued from there. I ate my way through custody litigation with my son’s father, ate through the early months of the pandemic anxiety, ate through all my financial woes, and ate my way through clinical depression and anxiety.
I was at least 100 lbs overweight at the start of this, my hypothyroidism was hard to get under control, my triglycerides were off the wall, and I was on a statin for my high cholesterol. During the challenge I was also diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver disease, stage 3, which was devastating to me. Apparently only 5% of the population have this disease I and lucky me, my number was called. My only saving grace was that my blood pressure was low to normal (yay!).
I had lurked in the shadows of the CleanFoodCrush website for a long time–trying out recipes–for almost a year before I finally took the plunge.
I just couldn’t handle how bad I felt! All my doctors were thrilled that I was taking this challenge and were fully supportive. I have not yet been back for a checkup, but I cannot wait to see their reaction when I do!
Changes Since Taking The Challenge:
-
My heartburn went away
-
I had tons more energy
-
I just felt better ALL OVER
-
My migraines went away.
-
My hip pain/aches/stiffness (I had a full hip replacement 6 months prior) was greatly reduced.
-
13.9 lbs lost in 30 CFC challenge
-
I’ve lost 2.5″ in bust
-
I’ve lost 3″ in waist
-
I’ve lost 3″ in hips
-
My husband did this with me and his carpal tunnel pain in his wrist went down greatly too!
This challenge really started the conversation about sugar and added ingredients in our house. While my picky 9 year old didn’t really eat the recipes, he did ask good questions about ingredients and sugar in his diet. This conversation will continue and, hopefully, shape his food choices too for years to come!
My husband and I loved the Bolognese Stuffed Spaghetti Squash and Sweet & Spicy Chicken. The overnight oats were a big hit too!

The challenge was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life.
Please do not be afraid to take the plunge! It is one thing for doctors to tell you to “eat better” or “lose weight” without a roadmap of how to make it really work, how to make it really sustainable. The CleanFoodCrush Challenge gives you that roadmap for success!”
