Garlic bhel, Karnataka style street food

garlic-bhel-recipe

Garlic bhel is a simple no cook snack with few ingredients yet spicy, with burst of flavour. Quick video for this quick to make snack.

I saw this in my Instagram feed and came to know such thing existed. Wish one day I could taste this (my list is going long in each state 📝 that too at this period of time😪) I wanted to try and when I searched Instagram only very few of the pictures were there. Then found this in Youtube and got an idea. Adapted it and incorporated few more ingredients as I saw in the picture.

The descriptions wrote the main flavour apart from the ingredient garlic is ghee. I was drooling as I read and bought this pack of pori when I went grocery shopping. When I was writing a rough ingredients for the recipe, realized no kara boondi. So made a very very small batch and did this today. Aj and Vj ate it without any complains. Aj wanted a sweet touch though.

I had no sweet chutney so added a dash of tomato chillis sauce and gave him. Thought I should have added a dash of sugar powder for that sweet touch. So included it as optional ingredient. If you feel it would be nice to add a sweet touch do add it. Also never skip or skimp on ghee. Just add it as it is main ingredient apart from garlic.

This have no connection with the north Indian Bhel puri so do not imagine something like that. This is pure Karnataka street food style ‘bhel puri with carrots’ type.
