Hi there,
My name is Colleen Shannon! I lost 37 pounds with the Clean Eating Challenge and am so thrilled to share my experience of the program with you today!
I’ve been married for 30+ years, I’m a mother of one, mother in law to one beautiful daughter and YaYa to 2 healthy, wonderful grandkids!
I had been through Weight Watchers (twice), Metabolic Research Center (twice) and several other programs throughout my lifetime. I could get the weight off, BUT, as soon as I stopped following their plan, the weight would creep back up slowly but surely and usually more than before!
I had been walking for several years and I love it. After my half marathon in May 2018, I knew I had to do something. I finished, but everything hurt. My knees, my hips, my feet, my everything! I had to do something!
In June of 2018, right after my walk, I started seeing CleanFoodCrush pop up on my Facebook thread. I started following but I wanted to try things on my own.
I loved all of the recipes, the support and everything about the group! The only thing I worried about was the long-term. Would I keep going?!? Was this sustainable? I still didn’t want to commit, but I started making changes. I started with my breakfasts and particularly liked the protein bento boxes.
I did that for the better part of 2018 and the first part of 2019. I didn’t really change anything else and I managed to lose about 10 pounds. 10 pounds down in one year wasn’t enough change for me.
I finally took the plunge and registered for the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. I lost 10 pounds during the challenge and I have since signed up for the annual challenge.
I have now lost a total of 37 pounds in just a few months. My initial goal was to lose about 25 pounds, and I have exceeded that! I am so thrilled!
Physically, I am feeling much better. My knees are happier and my back is happier. I am hoping to complete my next half-marathon in March/April 2020!
My husband is very encouraging and likes to try new things with me. He’s not 100% Clean, but he is willing to try and is usually happy he did.
The rest of my family is easy going, and the grandkids like veggies and fruit instead of junk food. I’m always happy with that.
For holidays, I usually take healthy snacks. Usually, those are the first to go or have the biggest dents! Imagine that!
My words of wisdom: first, and foremost, do this for yourself! Everything will line up as you succeed on taking care of you!
Second, remember, you did not put all this extra weight on in 30 days! You should also realize, that depending on how much you have to lose, you will not take it all off in 30 days. That’s ok, you WILL see success if you stick with this program.
It’s a process! It will take time! After you take the first challenge, you have an option to upgrade and receive support for a year with the “annual upgrade” – which I highly recommend!
And, third, Give yourself some credit! You have already decided to take control of your health. Not everyone who wants to lose weight gets to this point. You’ve got this!
